There are few things more satisfying than clipping in your quickdraw at that perfectly timed apex, just as your last forearm muscle blows. For trad climbing, getting the length right of the extension is pretty critical, especially if you are a cammer (I still view them with some suspicion).

article here on making your own trad quickdraws. Sometimes having readymade stitched ones is easier to slap into a wire though. A few of both is probably no bad thing.
