a chrome street by the hotel, Soho, London

Street by the hotel Soho, London Odd, perhaps, that a photograph from Soho doesn't feature any people at all (actually, thats not strictly true, if you look carefully). But what struck me was precisely how out of place this well scrubbed, well lighted and quite empty little alley was in comparison to its surroundings.. Soho, heart of London's mainstream night life, late opening bars and the gay and lesbian scene was once much seedier, but with all the tourists trooping out of the hotels it is now bedecked with massive flood lights in many of little shifty alleys (back when I took this picture, that was still the exception not the rule) and the street vendors of exotica have to be on their toes. I took this picture of a very friendly gay cross dresser (as you can probably tell) not far from there. He was a fantastic poser and a great sport. Soho London: cross dresser
